Below is a re~edited post from my last Christmas while I still lived in California before the big move I wanted to share it with you. My blog stats show many of you are new readers. This post is one of my favorites because it talks about everything I’m passionate about Home, Friendships, & Love. Happy Monday, and first week of Advent! (grin) As the calendar year draws to a close, family schedules, programs, PaRtIeS, and “other” obligations for this time of year are in full motion… My week was filled with a combination of EvErYtHing…. An afternoon was spent putting up our outdoor ChRiStMaS LiGhTs…. Of course, there was a day of decorating our home. Of course…*wink A necessary day of rest on a rainy day. ..♡ And, it’s funny how the busiest time of year also … Continue reading

A Gathering Of Friends
Hi! It’s late on Thursday evening, and I’m just settling in from a wonderful time with a circle of courageous friends who decided to share a Thanksgiving together. We are all fairly new to this coastal living thing. And not so unlike those early pilgrims who on that first Thanksgiving were finding their way in a unfamiliar land, among a new people, learning how to carve out another way of life. The idea was that one of us would provide the home & main dish, while the others would bring side dishes. This was the first Thanksgiving I’ve celebrated here on the coast. Last year was spent in Ashland at the wonderful The McCall House read all about it here One of the biggest challenges of moving to a new place land is first meeting other friends pilgrims who you connect with, then begin creating those special bonds of friendships. All of which I’m learning takes time. Naturally on … Continue reading

The Sea Lions At Simpson Reef
Hey sweet friend! I’m so grateful to see you today. I hope you had a wonderful week. And if by any chance this is your first time visiting here then Welcome! It makes me happy to see you. These cute little creatures sure make me happy too. That is when I’m able to see them. Long ago when I was still doing the teaching & living thing in California, my second graders would often take field trips to the fabulous San Diego Zoo. Here children were able to experience all the magical benefits of nature & animals. And one of my all time favorite exhibits would always be the sea lions. Little did I know back then that one day I’d be living so close to these wonderful mammals that I could run and visit them almost anytime. This past week the teacher in me decided I needed a field trip and decided to go … Continue reading

The Law of Attraction
I’m constantly editing my life. all of it. With that said recently I took a pile of clothing to a local donation center. I was no longer wearing, using, or needing these items so off they went. Ironically a few days later I received an e-mail from a friend & reader of my blog who mentioned that she had put a box together of things that she no longer was wearing, using, or needing in her life anymore and was sending them off too. That box arrived here on my sweet coast just the other day. I must admit it was as if Christmas had arrived. The box was large, wrapped with decorative holiday tape & I felt the excitement/curiosity of what was inside. I also couldn’t help and ponder on the coincidence of my giving away something, & then recieving. There is a lesson to all of this. Was it karma? The … Continue reading

I’ve got to say that earlier this week the weather on the coast had been so nice & warm that I actually thought about digging out my bikini ha! & hanging out at the beach for a few days finishing up that summer reading. rain however is in the forecast… With that said and just in case you find yourself longing for a little coastal getaway along the Oregon coast that is this Veteran’s Day weekend I have a simply fabulous place for you to visit. It’s an adorable shop called Simply Cottage located right off Hwy 101 in the charming town of Coos Bay. I think you will love it here. I first discovered Simply Cottage when I arrived on the Oregon coast in the summer of 2015. For me Simply Cottage is one of those shops you feel very comfortable with the moment you walk in. soulful With a cozy home like feeling, and the friendly shop owner … Continue reading
