A View From My Kitchen Window

”Let us not grow weary of doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”- Galatians 💐 Hello…             Although small in size…     I enjoy the view from my kitchen window…     Overlooking a part of the garden.     This time of year the view feeds my soul with blossoming buds…     on the Weeping Willow.     Everyday these small buds open up…     transforming into green vibrant leaves.     I am reminded why I enjoy this season…     as I observe all the changes going on.     The importance of  change and growth and it’s result…new beginnings. This tree which begins to lose its leaves in late summer…allowing me to see things in the yard that need some work…weeds that have seemed innocent now have … Continue reading

“An interior is the natural projection of the soul.” ~Coco Chanel   Hello…             For me every home has a soul to be discovered.     We might feel a good experience as we walk into a home for the first time…     other times it takes a while to see what it needs we must listen carefully.      Since moving into this cottage on the Oregon coast in 2015 I have tried to be in tune to it’s needs…     and my wants.     Fortunately…and more often than not the two have come together-rather effortlessly.     Such was the case when recently vintage looking pavers were added to replace the gravel driveway.         A bit of charm added each year…it might be  something small which adds the most life and beauty into the soul of a … Continue reading

Just Between Us

“Pain is inevitable suffering is optional”~Dalai Lama Just between us… It’s great to be home.          as much as I loved my whirlwind trip to California😎 California     I sooooo longed returning…     to my sweet little cottage. by the sea     With Spring in the air along with…     daylight saving time…     all these projects had  been calling out to me…         👩‍🌾There is always work to do in the garden…🌺🌼🌸🌷     Oh and remember that hutch I wondered if I should paint white?     well…(I painted it!)     and it still needs just one last coat.😉     I had been excited about trying another fun new cooking recipe with Joe…     All that being said…ironically shortly after my return home…     I mysteriously pulled a muscle in my leg which again ironically kept me from doing any of those … Continue reading

California Girllfriends

“It’s astonishing how short a time it takes for very wonderful things to happen” 💞Frances Burnette         I hadn’t planned this trip to Southern California.😎     However after a surprise call one afternoon on a land line phone that rarely rings…and never used. (an unlisted number) I knew I had to go.💕      Considering the trip began late February…     and ended in early March…     it felt like a there and back again kind-a-trip.                 I have to to tell you that today more than ever I know (without a doubt) that if something is meant to happen it will.     I’m still bewildered exactly how what I thought I had decided against occurred in spite of myself.     Yes…an unexpected call that afternoon in mid February had me packing my bags and heading out for California…😎   … Continue reading

Nantucket, Fairy Tales, and Dreams

This is a re-edited published post. Originally published in 2015 after moving to the Oregon coast. I re-published it again in 2017 while vacationing in Southern California. And, now during the 2020 pandemic (at home) thought it might be a nice armchair get-away. ”If you want your children to be intelligent read them fairy tales. If you want your children to be more intelligent read them more fairy tales.” ~Albert Einstein Hello! I’m currently in California & decided to re-edit a post from when I visited Nantucket right after moving to the Oregon Coast in 2015. It’s personally one of my favorites & somehow this recent trip to California made me think of it. I’ll be sharing about my California trip in next week’s post.😘 🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺 I’ve been thinking about Fairy Tales lately. No doubt it has everything to do with my recent visit to the beautiful, dreamy, fairy tale like … Continue reading
