A Good~bye July Garden Tour
“It was a good time to start something new. We have two lives, and the second starts when you realize that you have only one.” ~Isabelle Dubois-Dumee Earlier this week my husband surprised me by taking this photo. He was inside our home and saw me taking photos so he snapped one of me as he called out. It was a fun candid moment. real time This got me to thinking of how sometimes I wait until I think the moment is just right to do something (in an effort trying to capture the perfect moment) subsequently missing the moment because I’m trying to capture it. does this make sense? For example waiting to take a photo so I get exactly the picture I’m looking for. Hesitating to invite that new acquaintance for coffee because perhaps it’s too soon or.…holding off to have a party until you get the perfect room all set up to sit everyone … Continue reading

There’s no place like home
”Home is a place we all must find, child. It’s not just a place where you eat or sleep. Home is knowing. Knowing your mind, knowing your heart, knowing your courage. If we know ourselves, we’re always home, anywhere.” ~Glenda the Good Witch Hello my wonderful friends how was your week? The other day during a practice with Toto (aka Cami) I thought about a retreat in SoCal I had attended this last January 6 months ago and a question I returned home with. The question being “How am I going to get more grounded and rooted here on the Oregon coast?” my new home Retreats are good in the way they give you oppportunities to reflect on the direction your life is going yellow brick road (have you ever attended one?) That being said I am happy to see that six months later & with just a tad bit of effort on my … Continue reading

Our Little Pink House
“Sometimes we have to let go of the life we have planned to have the life that is waiting for us.” ~anonymous Hi! I hope you had a good week. This week marked the Second anniversary living on the Oregon coast. Lots has changed yet much remains the same It is very quiet this morning as I begin writing today’s post. I hear the foghorn and sound of waves in the distance. The weather is cool, the air is fresh. I’m feeling extremely grateful on this midsummer day. I look out of a small window propping myself up with more pillows to get comfy so we can chat. I still have a few hours before the painters arrive. They are close to finishing. I can’t tell you how surprised I am after many years spent imagining what a dream house would look like (which includes & not limited to dreaming, scheming, … Continue reading
