ADVENTURE
Longing for a quieter life this former SoCal gal left it all behind for a rediscovered one along the Oregon coast.

Feeling Blue
Having received a Bachelor of Science degree in “Child Development ” might explain why I have always been intriqued with how things effect us. Case in point. Now that I’m living on the coast, it appears that my favorite color has become blue. Hmmmm… Blue is my new pink! Perhaps, it’s also just a little more fun to be creative… and change things up occasionally.

PhOtOgRaPhY….NeW EyEs….
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Happy, Happy, mid week…. Years ago I took a photography class. I really enjoyed it. Later, when I was working on getting my Master’s Degree in Education, I was able to sneak in an art class. Yippee!!! I LOVED that too! And, then the years just flew by. Now, I have time to dabble in these two activities once again. I try and create something everyday. I enjoy photography, even though I mostly wing everything. I don’t have any “formal” training. However, it’s such an enjoyable way of exploring different creative outlets. There’s no doubt that photography helps me to reconnect with myself… and finding different ways of viewing the world around me. I get new and inspirational insights of how to see everyday experiences. I find JOY. By … Continue reading
The Art of Friendship
Since moving to the coast I’ve made a few friends. We’ve exchanged having tea at one another’s home. These new friends have helped me in my adjustment. It’s almost a definition of friendship. Friends help friends. It’s so nice to have a friend when you need a listening ear, or loving hand. To have a friend, we must be a friend. Someone’s waiting for you to invite them over for a special tea visit today. Keep it simple. Pick up a ready made scone mix, heat some water and call a friend over for tea!
A Fall Home Tour…Cozy comforts
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Hey, Happy Autumn! I thought it would be fun to share a glimpse of our sweet, unassuming cottage. Kind of show you how it is coming along. I feel like I have been re-discovering myself again in the process. Although small in size, it’s been a bigger challenge living out my committment to a more simple, and authentic life style. As you view the photos keep in mind that other than the first photo all are of our current cottage, which we moved into July 13th, of this year. More than five years ago, while living in California I was asked to have our then 1920’s cottage home participate in a Vintage Home Tour. After some considering my husband and I agreed. Shortly after the tour, one … Continue reading

The Dragonfly Nursery
During a visit to the local farmers market, I purchased a pretty basket with flowers planted in it. The young girl was so helpful, and told me about her nursery in Langlois, Oregon. So, today I took a drive there. The nursery is set on 90 acres. It’s beautiful there. There’s a wide variety plants, veggies, and decorative flower arrangements to choose from. It’s a mom, and daughter venture. If you ever get a chance to visit, I highly recommend it.
