ADVENTURE
Longing for a quieter life this former SoCal gal left it all behind for a rediscovered one along the Oregon coast.

The Garden Lady
I’m thinking that the first women’s group I ever joined was in second grade. The group was called Bluebirds. I loved that little group. I can’t remember why I wasn’t in it for very long. Anyway since then, there have been a variety of women’s groups I’ve participated in. The groups vary, just as the women I’ve met who participated in them. The range being from down to earth groups, to more privileged clubs. And have included everything in between. I enjoy women’s friendships very much, and know from personal experience that these friendships have helped me grow. Recently I met an amazing lady. I refer to her as my Garden Lady friend. The Garden Lady is inspiring. Weighing little more than perhaps a hummingbird. (metaphorically speaking…grin) Her diminutive size is deceiving however. And, similar to the sweet hummingbird has little to do with how she seems to float effortlessly through what I’d consider hard work. One … Continue reading
The Evolution of a Seaside Cottage
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ I wanted to share an update on the bedroom flooring that has been installed these last couple of days. It was not intentional at all when Joe and I ordered the flooring a while back that it would be installed this week. This week marks a special time. A year ago I had made a solo visit to the Oregon coast to see if this is where I wanted to really live. I knew no one, everything was “different” and very unfamiliar to my way of life in So. California. Joe thought I would return home with a change of heart. Much to his surprise I returned home with an affirmation “I’m open to this new adventure! ” “let’s do it!” “If not now then … Continue reading

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ This is a re~post from a year ago. I had just returned from the Oregon coast to check it out for a new location to live. What I’d like to say, is if by chance any of you are in a life transitions don’t try and figure everything out. Do what you can, and the rest will be taken care of. Case in point I am now living in an adorable seaside cottage. Both Sides Now April 2015 By Marcia Ren How are you today? Did you have a great week? Are you glad it’s almost Friday? Any fun plans for the weekend? Oh, and is there by any chance … Continue reading

A Coastal Frittata
Hello. .I wanted to share my recipe for a yummy frittata. I enjoy fast, easy, & healthy. And this yummy beauty fits the bill. Of course being that before recently moving to the Oregon coast I lived in Southern California most my life. …I LOVE my avacados too! (smile) (btw..any random produce can be used as a substitute.) *Ingredients: 7~8 eggs 1 cup cheese (I used 3 cheese blend) 1/2 valerian onion (diced into small pieces) 1 tomato 1 large avacado (cut into small pieces or slices) *Organic Directions: With a hand mixer (or with a fork) Mix eggs well. Pour mixture into a lightly greased pan. ( again I use an organic olive oil) add cheese, tomatoes, & onion. Cover & cook for about 5 minutes. When the center is solid, slide it onto serving plate. Top with slices of avacado. Salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy! … Continue reading
A California Girl Tea
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Well, I don’t usually write a Saturday evening post. However, one of my California girlfriends sent me these photos from a tea party that I missed. The party was yesterday. (Friday) I sure would have loved to have flown in for the weekend and surprise everyone! But, the timing didn’t work out. I’ve been busily painting 3 rooms in our seaside coastal cottage in preparation for flooring that is due to be installed early next week. A little getaway would have been so intoxicating. That sounds funny but you get the point. As I upload these photos I can’t help but think how lucky I am to have been invited to this party with my California friends. It’s nice to know they haven’t forgotten … Continue reading
