The BeAuTy Of SiLeNcE…♡

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. I’m so happy to see you today my friend. Shall we have a little tea.

Happy middle of the week Wednesday!….how’s your week so far…half empty or half filled.….

Well last night I decided to take NASA’s recommendations for meteor watching.www.theguardian.com/science/shortcuts/2014/aug/11/best-way-to-see-perseid-meteor-shower

And, yes… as I laid in the yard (on a blanket of course) gazing up at the night sky….

I patiently started waiting to see a shooting star. Of course I have seen star streakers before (grin) and I absolutely love light shows of any kind. A teeny tiny science lesson.…sorry it’s probably coming from my former job.(grin) Anyway….

This time each year, the Earth passes through the debris field of the Swift-Tuttle comet giving us an amazing show in the sky. Any chance you had your blanket out too last night? I sure hope so! In the Catholic faith this meteor shower is called “The tears of St. Lawrence” because the dates of the meteor shower coincide each year with the feast day of the saint’s martyrdom  (August 10) You might wonder how I know all this….it’s a long story sweet friend, and perhaps worthy of yet another post.*wink *wink. However, this info does make me just a little more fascinated with the meteor showers.

I think spiritually they are a great example of the beauty and power of God’s creation. And, for some odd reason, this year I realized for the very first time, just how awesome these showers really are….they go by without a sound. The thought came to me that if I don’t take the time to stop and look up I would not even know they were there. Amazing.

If I don’t open my eyes toward the silence of the night sky, I will miss out on an example of the awesome beauty and power of creation.

Which of course means I would also miss out on the power of silence found in inner peace and tranquility. Wow….now that really lights up the term “stop, and smell the roses”….stop and hear the silence…..

Hoping your glass is half filled….of course

                                                                                         xoxo….
