While I typically cherish the coziness of our home during the holidays, this year a Christmas getaway added a new dimension to our cherished traditions.
The journey began when my husband proposed the idea of spending Christmas week in Carmel, California… a place known for its picturesque charm and idyllic coastal setting.
After careful consideration and planning, he orchestrated a getaway that would not only include the festivities of Christmas but also mark a significant milestone in my life.
Opting for a change in scenery, we decided to fly out of a small local airport, adding an element of adventure to our journey. Our destination; San Francisco, the gateway to the scenic drive that would lead us to Carmel. What made this trip even more special was the inclusion of our furry family member, Camille, who joined us on this memorable adventure.
Upon arrival in San Francisco, we embarked on a picturesque drive to Carmel, eagerly anticipating the unique experiences this quaint coastal town had to offer. Our accommodation at the Cypress Inn promised a perfect blend of luxury and comfort, making it an ideal setting for our holiday celebrations and birthday festivities.
Carmel has always captivated me with its charming houses, each one telling a story of the town’s rich history. Strolling through the festive decorations adorning the town to the joyous spirit of the locals, we found ourselves enchanted by the stunning coastal views, creating lasting memories against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.
As we prepare to return home, I carry with me the warmth of Carmel’s hospitality, the beauty of its coastal landscapes, and the love that surrounded our Christmas and birthday celebrations.
