LeT’s Go BiRdInG…♡

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. I’m so happy to see you today my friend.
Shall we have a little tea.

Happy Thursday! I’m particularly happy because Joe begins his vacation for a few weeks! Which translates to my blogger husband will be available to take lots of photos….(sort of just kidding)

We actually have a few ideas for mini outdoor getaways. And, although I’m probably the last person you will ever find camping in the wild west wilderness…there are many things about nature that fascinate me.

I must confess, that years ago when my husband invited me to go “birding”,  I had no idea what he was talking about. (sad, but true)

However,  I am happy to say that since we’ve been married, and moved to our darling little cottage which is surrounded by birds. ..I feel that perhaps I could possibly camp out in nature sometime. Oh,  wait. ..I take that back. Of course,  I didn’t mean real camping.

But, honestly I do spend many minutes watching all the little birds. Observing  their natural grace.  If truth be told, I love birds because they inspire me to ponder life. And, I love inspirational pondering. Since your a gentle soul too (of course you are!) I thought perhaps you’d enjoy my ponderings.

My 10 ponderings about birdies. …(grin)

1. Birds, like people  come in all different  sizes, shapes and strengths. It seems like every bird/person has their own unique beauty, strengths and weaknesses.

And, thank goodness we aren’t all the same. That would be boring. ….”embrace our differences”

2. Sometimes change is necessary. Birds are smart enough to migrate and find better conditions when food becomes scarce in the winter and conditions get harsh.. ..”be flexible, and make changes when things aren’t working the way they should be”

3. There are strengths and advantages in numbers. There is definitely a reason birds travel in flocks,  Conservation,  teamwork, efficency….”travel with a companion always”

4. It’s important to have some time alone. Even though it’s generally wise to travel with others, from time to time,….”everyone needs a little space.  “

5. Get a bird’s eye view. things look different when viewed from up high. …”Sometimes it’s
important to step back from something, to get the right perspective” (thanks little birdies for this one!)

6. Learn to keep your balance. It seems to me that birds are able to keep their balance, during strong winds, and often even standing on one foot! wow! …”life is full of moments that have the potential to knock us down…remember the little birdie, and keep your balance”

7.  Who cares if someone is watching. Birds don’t care if people are watching them. ( of course if my cat Darjeeling watches them, that’s a whole other story.) they just go about their business…”Don’t be so worried about what “others” will think…do what you feel is “right””

8. Keep pecking until you get what you want. We have this mirror outside, and there are two birds that continually try, over, and over, and over again to figure out what it is.

It seems to be so important to them to figure it out. It’s amazing to watch….”when we want something bad enough,,,keep pecking away, until we achieve what we set out for”

9. Make yourself a home. For me personally, this is so important.

I love to watch birds create a home for their little family. …”Everyone needs a place to come back to”

Well, you can see that my little cottage birds have given me many sweet lessons. That is probably why I have so many bird feeders around our property…I love their gentle lessons.

I left my favorite for last…..(of course)

Sometimes birdies drop their “stuff”  on you,  by you,  or near you.”Don’t take things personally”  it’s their stuff not yours. (grin)
