Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. I’m so happy to see you today my friend. It’s a new lovely day!
Shall we have a little tea. ..♡
How’s your week going? I plan to spend some time gardening, yoga, and perhaps a little baking later in the day.♡
I wanted to share a special little story with you. The other day I was in the midst of my Yoga class, when I realized I needed a few things at the market. So after yoga I made a quick stop at our local market.
While I was in the baking section, I noticed this elderly woman standing in front of the Betty Crocker section. (a sweet grin) and, yes. .. seriously. I couldn’t help but take a second glance. She was so very attractive, and just a beautiful woman. She was not all made up “fakey” (sorry I couldn’t think of another word) just a naturally elegant elderly woman. She was also dressed impeccably. I found myself feeling very self- conscious about the way “I” was looking in my appearance. Okay, now here’s the strange part….I became sort of mesmerized by her, and found myself walking over to the Betty Crocker section…. Just to get a better look. I noticed that she was carefully looking at each can of frosting and turning the can to read it better. It’s funny as I write this, I’m thinking “OMG, I sound like a stalker” I noticed her shopping cart was almost filled. I started wondering what I would be like at her age. .. and hoping that I have as much pride in taking care of myself as she did. All of a sudden she turned to me and started talking. I seriously thought she was going to tell me to stop stalking her. It turned out that she was legally blind. And that was why she was looking at each frosting can so carefully. She asked me if I could see a can of dark chocolate frosting. I found one for her . We started chatting, and of course I told her that she had caught my attention. I complimented her on her beauty, and impeccable taste. She said I totally made her day. I could tell that I really had. She shared that her husband had passed away several years ago, and that her daughter is visiting for a while. ( Which explained all the groceries….Yes. . Most definitely stalking qualities) It was such a sweet moment for both of us. I was SO glad I stalked her (just kidding) that I complimented her. Something so easy for me to do. .. and yet meant the world to a stranger.
Sorry this was so long…. and not all my usual beautiful pictures. Just a sweet reminder how our words are powerful.
I’m wondering if things like this ever happen to you? Have you been a stalker before? I hope so!
Pure joy!
Well, I better run. .. because I have some baking to do. (grin)
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Have a lovely day my friend.
Xoxo. ..
