If not, no worries because today I’m baking up some sugar cookies for you! a sweet spirit lifter so come along inside with me and we’ll share in some chat time because it’s chilly outside! seriously I’ve always enjoyed creating a beautiful home especially during the holidays and in some ways decorating comes too easily for me especially during the holidays. Dear Great Pumpkin
Dear Great Pumpkin I’m looking forward to your arrival on Halloween night. Hi! Are you ready for Halloween? Any costume parties, or gatherings going on for the weekend? Since moving to the coast Halloween has become quite scary. The main reason being is that I actually get trick~or~treaters! Now don’t get me wrong or anything. California does get trick~or~treaters unless it rains. (just kidding) However, the last street I lived at in California, never got any trick~or~treaters. A combination of no street lights, and homes being rather far apart was most likely just a little too scary for the kiddos. It was … Read the full blog post

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ I enjoy seeing all the throwback photos posted on FB. It’s fun to see how we have changed over the years. It’s amazing how some of my friends from high school haven’t changed a bit! In some ways I’ve changed a lot… in other ways I’ve remained similar to how I was in high school. But the truth is I wouldn’t want to be the same. And, the changes have been good ones. Trust me. An October Folly
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ My favorite time of year has arrived. I enjoy this season for many reasons. (that rhymes!) Mostly because it reminds me how important change is for newness, growth, and continued JOY in life. Just short of 12 years ago, my husband purchased a cottage for us on the Oregon coast. We hoped to possibly retire there someday. In between those 12 years we worked, and enjoyed our life in southern California. About that same … Read the full blog post
A Little Something New
“Pie baking happens here.” ~Marcia And, how are you today? Come on let’s have a seat. Pie baking happens here. By the way, have I mentioned there’s a dream kitchen in the making in a very sweet, very little cottage on the very beautiful Oregon coast? Well, okay I should say perfect for me. More & more I realize that creating a home in a small cottage is similar to other things in life. Particularly, those times when we find it’s necessary to switch things around a bit. Just a little, & just enough to make them work better … Read the full blog post

A Labor Of Love
“Guided by my heritage of a love of beauty and respect for strength – in search of my mother’s garden, I found my own.”~Alice Walker Hello… Labor Day weekend often marks the end of summer. I just recently heard that it is also the least traveled holiday. No worries there is still time for a little getaway. Here’s a perfect spot. Come let’s have a chat. I’ve been working on this room. I needed a change. Soooo…I moved the furniture around and added a few pops of color. A little bit of change was an all day venture this … Read the full blog post
