My go to skirt

I don’t know about you. ..but I love having an outfit in my closet that is ready to go.  One that I can always depend on for almost any occasion. For me that means something I can dress up,  or down with. I found the perfect gray tiered long skirt that fits the bill perefectly.

A place to hang your hat

Not to long ago one of my friends introduced me to someone who does wonderful woodwork. He agreed to build a shelf for me.  I wanted something simple to hang a hat, coat, or scarf on, when the weather gets cold. I drew a picture of what I had in mind. It’s all complete,  and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

Feeling Blue

Having received a Bachelor of Science degree in “Child Development ” might explain why I have always been intriqued with how things effect us. Case in point. Now that I’m living on the coast, it appears that my favorite color has become blue. Hmmmm… Blue is my new pink! Perhaps,  it’s also just a little more fun to be creative…   and change things up occasionally.

PhOtOgRaPhY….NeW EyEs….

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Happy, Happy, mid week…. Years ago I took a photography class. I really enjoyed it. Later, when I was working on getting my Master’s Degree in Education, I was able to sneak in an art class. Yippee!!! I LOVED that too! And, then the years just flew by. Now, I have time to dabble in these two activities once again. I try and create something everyday. I enjoy photography, even though I mostly wing everything. I don’t have any … Read the full blog post

The Art of Friendship

Since moving to the coast I’ve made a few friends. We’ve exchanged having tea at one another’s home. These new friends have helped me in my adjustment. It’s almost a definition of friendship. Friends help friends. It’s so nice to have a friend when you need a listening ear,  or loving hand. To have a friend,  we must be a friend. Someone’s waiting for you to invite them over for a special tea visit today. Keep it simple.  Pick up a ready made scone mix, heat some water and call a friend over for tea!

The Dragonfly Nursery

During a visit to the local farmers market,  I purchased a pretty basket with flowers planted in it. The young girl was so helpful,  and told me about her nursery in Langlois, Oregon. So, today I took a drive there.  The nursery is set on 90 acres. It’s beautiful there.  There’s  a wide variety plants, veggies, and decorative flower arrangements to choose from. It’s a mom,  and daughter venture.  If you ever get a chance to visit,  I highly recommend it.

A Sunday Breakfast

One of the reasons I enjoy cooking,  and baking, is that I know what ingredients are used. And, I do prefer using fresh, and organic ingredients. Today,  I whipped up a few potatoes, eggs/cheese, and mini size pancakes. Bon’apetit!

The Copper Goose Nursery

I enjoy gardening, and enjoy discovering different nurseries. And, just recently I discovered a most pleasurable one.  It is called The Copper Goose Nursery, and is located in Coquille, Oregon. It is privately owned and operated. The Copper Goose supplies beautiful flower baskets for Coos Bay, and other local areas. With the help of one of the employees I was able to find a variety of plants to create a Fall window box.   The name of the plants I added to an already existing arrangement: superbells~Dreamsicle, Superbena~Burgundy, and Superbena~Blue
