A California Gals Patriots Day Tea Party

There’s nothing like a tea party to get me in the spirit of friendship & fun. So naturally back in August when one of my California gal~friends invited me to her Patriots Day Tea Party for September 10th. I was like “hip, hip, hooray~ing!” the rest of the afternoon. Ironically, that same day I received a jury duty summons scheduled during the same time. D.a.r.n! If you have read any of my posts, or perhaps you are fortunate to know me personally (ha! ha! just kidding) then you know how very disappointed I was. This group of ladies are fabulous & fun. … Read the full blog post

A Sunday Dinner

There’s something very soulful about a Sunday dinner. For me it means taking time to be grateful for all the simple pleasures in my life. It begins with deciding what I’ll be preparing, and then carefully shopping for the items that are necessary. I have to tell you that during today’s church service my thoughts wandered a few times to a dinner menu. Or perhaps I was actually really listening as I heard the parable about the Prodical Son returning home and what I might prepare for a delicious meal. (wink) Hope your enjoying a bit of soulfulness this … Read the full blog post

My Weekend

Hi! How’s your weekend going? I’ve been taking notes about mine. Here’s a brief update. I knew on Saturday that I was headed for a great weekend when during an early morning walk I met a lovely family & their adorable children having fun.   Then after my walk when I returned home I caught the parade of the Cranberry Festival. Other events of the weekend included a lovely visit with a friend and attending a salmon festival. Oh, and I also went to see the movie Sully. Have you seen it yet?  I so enjoyed it. … Read the full blog post

Back To School

“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.”~Anais Nin Hi Everyone! Hope you had a fabulous week, and are ready for the weekend with a few fun plans. How’s about we go for a walk today. ..   As the last blooms of summer fade away. Frolicking children have returned to the classrooms leaving the neighborhood silent and empty. Well, alright I admit it’s pretty quiet most of the time on this sweet coast where I live. However, now that school … Read the full blog post

What I Wear

I’ll be the first to admit that old  habits are hard to break. And, as a former teacher I am soooo programmed  to hitting up the Back~To~School sales! I see those early August ads, and I still get all charged up for a new school year. Here’s a great little sale I recently found. I purchased it at Marshall’s in Roseburg, Oregon. Which btw feels like a HUGE city to me now! Anyway the dress tunic was marked down from $60.00 to $15.00. I can wear it as a dress, tunic, or under a sweater with jeans and boots. I … Read the full blog post

A Labor Of Love

“Guided by my heritage of a love of beauty and respect for strength – in search of my mother’s garden, I found my own.”~Alice Walker Hello… Labor Day weekend often marks the end of summer. I just recently heard that it is also the least traveled holiday. No worries there is still time for a little getaway. Here’s a perfect spot. Come let’s have a chat. I’ve been working on this room.   I needed a change. Soooo…I moved the furniture around and added a few pops of color. A little bit of change was an all day venture this … Read the full blog post

‘Beyond The Borders’

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you-it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you…Hopefully, you leave something good behind.”~Anthony Bourdain Hi, I’ve missed you!  I’ve been traveling through British Columbia. This was my first time there, and I’ve got to say I was captivated from the get go. Come on I’ll share with you a few highlights of my travels. I don’t have lots of time because my … Read the full blog post

Do You Know What You Love?

“Today a new sun rises for me; everything lives, everything is animated, everything seems to speak to me of my passion, everything invites me to cherish it.” ~Ninon de l’Enclos More than likely as you read today’s post I’ll be in another country.
