Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡
Sooooo…how’s everything with you? Any fun plans for the weekend? I sure hope so!
I’ve been pondering about my own…
One of my favorite summer activities is taking long road trips.
The longer the better
And if I’m not in a hurry to reach my destination…
the trip is that much more fun!
My husband has an old road atlas that he often pulls out, and shows me all sorts of places we might want to visit.
And, as I write this post
I have to tell you, that at times it’s quite amazing to realize that…
both of us are now retired
and living happily ever after on the Oregon coast in a super sweet beach cottage. (giggle)
I know that probably sounds funny to you. Well, on second thought perhaps it doesn’t. Okay, now I’m a little curious…any chance you are retired? married? single? dating? Is this your first time visiting Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea? If this is your first time here….then…Welcome!… and s.o.r.r.y about all the questions…but I tend to be a curious kind of gal. Btw…if you are new to my blog, here are a few posts to catch you up. (grin)

So, anyway. ..little, by little
we are discovering restaurants, shops, and points of interests. We are like two kids a.g.a.i.n. Wheeeeeeee!
And, lately our days have involved
exploring new areas along this beautiful coast where we live.
Recently, we went on a mini road trip to Port Orford, the oldest town on the Oregon Coast and the most westerly in the 48 states. http://www.enjoyportorford.com
we stopped and ate at a super hip cafe. I love hip cafes!
Tasty Kates, what a fun place, and fabulous healthy food.
Then we headed up to view the ocean.
And, boy oh boy….were we surprized at how gorgeous it was. I love gorgeousness!
I had to pinch myself to think I am surrounded by such beauty. (just kidding…I didn’t really pinch myself)
On our way back home we decided to check out and tour the Cape Blanco lighthouse.
I love lighthouses!
I think they symbolize “Hope”, and of course, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while. ..
you know I am a seeker of all things that give hope, light, and guidance in life. (grin) http://www.capeblancoheritagesociety.com
Cape Blanco is beautiful. It is located at the furthest tip of the Oregon coast. So if you plan on visiting, make sure to bring a little sweater, because it can get quite cool, and windy. We were very lucky that the weather was sunny, with just a little wind.
Along the way we found a hiking path that went through a forest of trees.
The path was around 1/2 mile long and ended up over looking the ocean. I told my husband that all the walking was making me hungry again. Ha! Ha! The end of a perfect mini road trip!
Happy weekend travels my friend…
stay safe…
Here’s another recorded a week ago. ..
