Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡
I can’t think of anything more comforting than the smell of baked bread. When I was single, I’d often bake bread in a bread maker in the morning. This way when I arrived back to my small apartment after a day of teaching I’d smell homemade bread. My apartment would feel all warm, cozy, and welcoming. I would feel loved And, of course we all need to feel loved.
Oh, and of course if you are selling your home, realtors often suggest that clients bake a loaf to create a homey atmosphere while their house is being shown.
That’s a good one! Have you ever done that before?
Real bread baking is an art, and can be therapeutic as well.
Kneading the dough is similar to throwing a pot on a potter’s wheel~ it makes one more aware of one’s inner self or center.
Just as clay has to be kept in the center of the wheel so the pot will be symmetrical, we, too, have to be centered in our own lives to keep from becoming off~balance.
I don’t necessarily bake bread, however I do LOVE to bake.
Especially on those days where I need to be more centered.
I find things like baking, or creating something from nothing helps me get back to my center when things get a little crazy.
When I’m preparing homemade crust, there’s nothing like grabbing a spongy handful of dough and kneading away those thoughts, and cares that parade around in my mind at times.
I come back to my center through these activiites of the home art. (that’s what I call it) and I feel centered again.
And, when I’m feeling centered, and loved it’s a an easy exchange to share that with others.
How about you? What helps get you centered…Do you enjoy home~art too?
Happy weekend my friend…♡
