Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡
Happy Monday! Three Cheers for BBQ’s, parades, family, friends, and of course I Love them all. Of course.
I sometimes wonder if it’s because I’m becoming wiser, as I get older younger, (wink, wink) However, having another 4th of July weekend over is a little bittersweet for me. I just want to hold on to everything. It is like I hate to see anything end. It’s sad! But rather than dwell on the fact that it’s Monday and my sweet, patient wonderful husband is probably relieved to be back at work, so he wont be available to take bazillion photos of me back to work, I’ll focus on the spectacular highlights of the weekend.
I enjoyed a wonderful weekend with family, and friends. There was lots of sparkle, and yummy food.
Our amazing country turned 238 years old, and my amazing oldest daughter Teah turned 112!(photo above)
So much to celebrate, and be grateful for. Good health, family, and fun friends! Want to hear a fun fact? That little cutie (photo below) is my youngest Daughter, and she traveled everywhere with me over the weekend. Well…
Perhaps that’s not really a fun fact.
And, perhaps she didn’t go everywhere.
But I certainly wanted her too she certainly is a fun little bundle of JoY.
Oh, and speaking of sparkly, fun friends, I’d love to share a delightful Saturday afternoon tea party I attended. Every couple of months “we” girlfriends get together, and host a theme tea party. This month, the theme was “Time for Tea party” a 4th of July celebration.
Guests were greeted by a special flag. A real patriotic and warm Welcome.
Red, white, and blue were the theme colors. Let’s take a closer look at those adorable pillows.
My little hostess friend is extremely talented.
Clusters of red, white, and blue paper art decorated the front door.
The menu was displayed
As we gathered together for this patriotic day,
the hostess journeyed away from the typical tea with lace, and transformed her tea table into an elegant picnic tablescape setting.
Handmade coconut/shaved dark chocolate scones with homemade lemon curd made from lemons from the “Goddess Hostess” lemon tree. This was served with seedless blackberry jam, Devonshire cream.
Orange poppy seed/orange cream cheese mini sandwiches, chicken salad on croissants, egg salad on grain, old fashioned macaroni/celery/peas salad….Salad Devine!
A plate of dainties: orange melts, chocolate chip bars, and a special surprise…teeny tiny Poprock cupcakes (btw…aren’t the placecards just a~d~o~r~a~b~l~e)
The spectacular finale…..Patriotic Trifle in a jar!
Each guest was given unique placecards. Attached were mini teacup, and vintage skate key charms. My friend aka….”The Goddess Hostess” thought of everything.
Before we departed each guest was given a lovely gift…
I’m sure your envious curious, what was inside…(I certainly was!) Well, GH thought of everything.
Since we are halfway to Christmas (omg!) inside were MS mulling spices, and an adorable glass serving star. A sparkly pen was included. (hmmmm, perhaps to start writing out our Christmas list?) yikes!
Now, that’s what I call a perfect ending to a perfect weekend. How about you? I hope you had a fabulous holiday weekend too! Anyone do anything fun….
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Have a lovely day, and a fabulous week.
Xoxo. ..

When the world is all at odds, and the mind is all at sea. Then cease the useless tedium, and brew a cup of tea. There is magic in its fragrance, there is solace in its taste; and the laden moments vanish somehow into space. The world becomes a lovely thing! There’s beauty as you’ll see; all because you briefly stopped to brew a cup of tea.
