Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡
How was your first week of 2016?
So far so good on my end.
Christmas is put away for a year.
A new little birdhouse wreath decor for January has been lovingly placed.
And, of course my fresh new calendar is up. I purchased it at a shop in Nantucket “last” October. 2015. Wow!
Seems like such a long time ago now. Nantucket was part of a two week vacation my husband and I had taken, shortly after moving to the Oregon coast “last July”. I’m so glad we chose to do this wonderful trip. I discovered so many fabulous places, met new friends, and saw new and exciting things that I’d never been to before. A little adventure for sure. Of course a HUGE adventure was making the decision to leave California, and move to the Oregon coast!
And, the same is true… I’m discovering fabulous places, meeting new friends, and experiencing exciting things I’d never seen before.
Adventure to me is anything that takes me outside of my comfort zone, or provides me with a deeper understanding of the world.
It can be as simple as walking out my front door and not knowing what will happen next.
Or, approaching every day and all situations with a sense of openness and exhilaration.
2016 will be an adventure since each day will open up new ways to experience life with fresh eyes, and be open to all that comes my way.
An adventurous life is finding out what makes our lives meaningful and risking it all accomplishing it. The best adventure stories are those that the lead character embarks on a new experience, encounters certain roadblocks or difficulties, learns something important about herself or the world, and finds a way to overcome.
No doubt 2016 will be this adventure. Because it is Life. So, dear reader no matter how you choose to live it, live it! Live it to its fullest, every moment of everyday.
May the force be with you…

Thank you for the wonderful reminder that ‘Life is an adventure ‘ and to live my life that way!
I’m not sure if I’ve told you this or not but…you inspire me! Since moving into our new house I’ve not had many friends over so this week I’ve invited two over for lunch Monday and another for brunch Tuesday! Of course this involves puttering about in my new digs cleaning, hanging new curtains (from Ikea, love them!), and planning what to prepare for food. Adjusting to living in town has been a big challenge for me so it’s good to keep busy and socializing with friends…thank you Marcia!
Hi Jenny! Now, what a sweet, kind compliment. Thank you. You and I are newbies aren’t we. We are both finding our way in a new home, and town. And, I think we most likely agree that we need to risk, and be vulnerable about meeting new friends. ..and starting new projects. Would sure love to see a photo of those adorable curtains! Xo
Marcia!
