Everything came from the 99 cent store, where every day is a lucky day. Later there are plans to attend a St. Patricks dinner. I’m looking forward to that! Do you have any … Read the full blog post

You are a JoY…
Today’s post was inspired by a conversation I had recently with one of my dearest friends. She lives in sunny California. She had mentioned a conversation she recently had with one of her friends in which the question came up “Do you know anyone that is happy with life right now?” My friend told me her reply was “YES, I DO!” and then she mentioned that she right away thought of me. I’ve been thinking about that conversation ever since. I also don’t know what prompted me to ask the question. but I’ll never forget the answer. Many years ago, I asked my mother, … Read the full blog post

Auld Lang Syne Downton Abbey Finale
In the final episode of Downton we experience the end of the year. Unfortunately, I’m not big on endings. As Auld Lang Syne rang out, we departed the Abbey with Cousin Violet bemoaning having to leave the past behind and boldly step forth into the future. “If only we had the choice,” she quipped. Waaaaaaa…. Whether we like it or not all things come to and end. If we are fortunate our good~byes are expressed, tears are shed, and then little by little our life moves on. I suppose this is true on all levels of endings. In terms … Read the full blog post

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Well, I had seriously thought that today’s post would be about my recent stay at The McCall house in Ashland, Oregon. I’m sure you’d like to read about the fun things I did there. Then, I thought no I should write the story about my new MacKenzie~Childs Tea kettle. That’s a special story. So, many interesting things happen in my life each week (grin) that sometimes it’s difficult to decide which story(ies) to share. No … Read the full blog post

Soup Kitchen
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Today on the coast it was blizzardy, raining, and windy. I met up with a few of my Wednesday GF’s. I decided to call them that since we agreed to get together on Wednesdays for a meet, and chat. We laughed a lot about the rain. Ha! Ha! When I returned home I made a beautiful, yummy pot of soup. It’s sort of my own recipe. I gather all my •favorite veggies…wash, cut, slice, … Read the full blog post

Downton S6E8
I have always enjoyed bananas. How about you? This last episode of Downton Abbey reminded me of bananas. There were quite a few crazy things going on. Perhaps, I should bake up banana bread. Any chance you have a great banana recipe that you’d like to share? Please post it if you do. Bananas came into play during this last episode…no worries, I’m not going to spoil it for you. A Wonderful Visit
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Thought I’d drop in on this beautiful Sunday evening. Our friend Jeff left a few hours ago. We had a fabulous weekend. He arrived on Friday evening, so we decided to go out for dinner. I had prepared a huge pot of lentil vegetable soup. However, he preferred treating us. That’s the kind of guy he is. Anyway, we stayed up past everyone’s bedtime chatting away. Saturday morning I had prepared cranberry scones, then … Read the full blog post
