If Not Now…Then When?
“I was born the day I thought: What is? What was? And What if?” ~Suzy Kassem Rise Up and Salute the Sun First of all I want to wish you a Happy May! And secondly, can you b.e.l.i.e.v.e that the month of May has really arrived? I mean seriously how can this be? ( that 2017 is almost half over) seriously how is this even possible… Just recently WordPress ( the platform I use for publishing) sent a message informing me my stats were booming. This always excites and makes me very happy. I was a little surprised (since at the time my usual weekly … Read the full blog post

Just Another Week in Paradise
“Take care to keep open house: Because in this way some have had angels as their guests, without being conscious of it” ~Hebrews 13:2 I’ve been meaning to share with you a chair that I saw a few weeks ago. It seems as if I’m often finding chairs that call out to me. This particular one came home with me that day. Oh and since we are becoming such good friends I also thought I’d share a little quirky thing I do quite often Periodically I go on the outside and pretend that I’m a visitor. I walk, look around and imagine that … Read the full blog post

Beauty and The Bloom
“Whenever you experience awesome beauty, absorb it inside yourself. It does affect your soul. Once there, it lifts your spirits & is alive in you now and as a memory forever” ~Marcia I’m thinking that I might have already mentioned this about how I was surprised to find out that in 110 years of weather history on the Oregon coast this past winter ranked number 8 in rainfall who knows perhaps 4 by now Okay…actually…. I’m not really that surprised because seriously it has rained a lot! That being said there’s just no excuse for me not making the most of the … Read the full blog post
Spring Awakenings
“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant” ~Anne Bradstreet One week of daylight savings has passed and I think I’ve adjusted to it no doubt it helped that my husband turned the clocks forward the day before (yes…no doubt) This has been an exceptionally wet winter. I loved the rain, and I’m very grateful for the beauty that surrounds me. Spring is just around the corner and I’ve been anticipating it’s arrival. Just thinking about the glorious sunshine and pretty colors that are popping up is quite exciting. I notice the birds feathering their nests and get inspired to do the same … Read the full blog post

The VeRy L-o-v-e of Spring…♡
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a cup of tea. …♡ I love tulips. This adorable tulip teacup came from a tearoom in Redmond, Oregon. That particular visit, had marked my 37th Tearoom. Amazing! And what is even more amazing….that afternoon was nearly 25 years ago.♡ There have been many “Springtimes” since then. Many happy new BeGiNnInGs and a few bittersweet EnDiNgS. I do love the Springtime. It reminds me that we can always BeGiN again. And when we begin again… there’s “HoPe”. In the … Read the full blog post

Foggy With A Chance Of Clearing
Hello… I hope that you had a nice week. Anything out of the ordinary going on? Mine has been a little interesting. foggy I just returned from a walk to the bluff. The rain has stopped and the fog is lifting. I’m on the mend from a recent head cold. perhaps a little brain fog going on My computer phablet crashed this week ( I do most of the work for my blog on this) and consequently ended up losing some of my data and many of my contacts. (most) fog is lifting… after lots of research etc… I … Read the full blog post

Coasting Into March
The twelve months… Snowy, Flowy, Blowy, Showery, Flowery, Bowery, Hoppy, Croppy, Droppy, Breeze, Sneezy, Freezy,…~George Ellis The middle of this past week began with a new month. March. Any chance you celebrated Mardi Gras? I enjoyed a Mardi Gras dinner at the church I attend. During the dinner I met a couple who had recently moved from Southern California (very close to where I use to live) to the Oregon coast. such a small world isn’t it… The madcap month of March has arrived. Here on my fabulous coast I’ve seen wind, rain, sunshine, hail, light featherings of snow, and several rainbows.🌈 I know without … Read the full blog post

Two Movies and A Furneral
We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. -T.S. Eliot Hello..have you seen any good movies lately? I recently saw two. oh…just a second while I add a little water to these beautiful Valentine roses. This past week as I thought of the month coming to an end several things came to mind. I suppose it has something to do with associating February with hearts, flowers, and chocolate. which btw I do enjoy immensely. However just recently I experienced several things watching … Read the full blog post

Cranberry Scones
Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ It’s early Saturday and I just finished baking up some scones for our weekend guest. I figured they’d be perfect to begin our day… and they go very well with French roasted coffee that my husband is a master of brewing up. The scone recipe is quite customizable, as you can use any type of berry. Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups of flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 tablespoon sugar A … Read the full blog post
