Hi! Hope you had a great week. Any fun plans for the weekend?
I’m often on the look~out for fun new places to experience here on the beautiful Oregon coast.
It must be that former teacher gauge in me.
You might know the one…it knows when school will start, and then I go shopping for new clothes.
It knows all the vacations, and definitely gauges when the weather begins feeling a little Fall~ish~y, it’s time to start planning for harvest field trips.
So not surprisingly I recently began longing for a visit to a pumpkin patch.
With a little research I was excited to discover a wonderful Family friendly pumpkin patch not too far from where I live.
It’s called the Mahaffy Ranch.
This beautiful bucolic countryside property is owned by Ryan & Shawna Mahaffy.
A super nice couple who have four sons
and a HUGE pumpkin patch they open up once a year to everyone.
I was a lucky lady too, because the day I decided to stop by just happened to be the first day of the pumpkin picking season.
This lovely couple & four sons have created a perfect harvest setting.
It was just what I was hoping for. Shawna was extremely friendly & took the time to chat with me a while.
She shared how she & her husband wanted their sons to learn about working together & creating a family friendly experience for the community.
And that my friend is exactly what they they did. It’s a wonderful place to come & spend the day with family, & friends.
They offer a U-pick pumpkin patch, hay rides, & other fun activities.
I picked up some apple spice donuts, apple cider, candy corn,….oh, and yes pumpkins!
On entering the ranch I met a few new friends….
Here’s a low calorie Pumpkin Spiced Latte for a Fall~ish~y day.
