Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. ♡ I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea.
(Woof!)
This is a bakery on Nantucket. Here you will find the best Cranberry scones. I thought of you often as I was visiting this charming island. I’m certain you’d love it just like I did. L.o.v.e.d
Bark! ……. Bark! … Bark!…………………………….Bark!Bark!
Please try and ignore all the noise going on around here today. As in a barking kind a noise. (Arff! Arff!) It’s Earl our second to the oldest furry kid. A real Mama’s boy.
Oh, silly me. … you can’t hear from behind that screen can you. (?) Well thank goodness! On my end it’s (Woof!Woof!) a little crazy making.
Our furry kids are still letting me know that they were NOT happy about my leaving them for a recent East Coast excursion. (Bark! Bark!) Nope, not happy at all. Are you sure you don’t hear a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. …Well, ok. I believe you.
Okay, now where was I…before the barking started. I think if I remember correctly…(Arff! Arff!) I was preparing to depart for my vacation.
Suitcase was in tow, all neatly, and nearly packed. Oh, and before I forget (Bark!) I wore that gray layered skirt in NYC, and several ladies in the theatre complimented me on it. (big grin) (Roof!)
This is how it looked when I (Woof! Woof!) returned. Sadly still does. Haven’t quite got a handle on my kids yet. the simple coastal living thing. (hooowwwwl!) Ya know….I think I might need a vacation from a vacation. (Whine like sound proceeded by two growls)
And, I’m sure grateful for this past week being we got to turn the time back, which allows us that extra hour of sleep. Im thinking Father Time might just have forgotten all about me. Maybe he’s not aware of my moving from the West Coast.. Or, perhaps, he doesn’t know I’m even back yet from the East Coast, and now in the Great Pacific Northwest? No doubt I’ve even confused Father Time. Is it possible he’s upset with me too?
Anyway, it sure would be nice to hear from him right about now. (rawfffff! rawwfff!)
Since my return, life around this cottage has been 25/7 crazy.
The work on the side yard began earlier than scheduled.
The weather was good, so the workers got going.
I’m learning that the weather on my new beautiful coast wears many hats.
Within a few hours we might experience rain, sunshine, BURSTS of rain…
then GLORIOUS sunshine again. And, being that I’m trying so very hard to living a more simplified, and gracious life, (bark!…bark!) Fall decorating is an easy turn around from Halloween.
*Note to self: remember live simply. (RUFF!RUFF!RUFF!)
Okay, now this is weird. Is it me, or does that Jack~o~lantern have a smirk on his face?
I could swear this wreath is sticking it’s tongue out at me. Wreaths aren’t suppose to stick their tongues out. Silly, silly…wreaths can’t be mad at you. can they? (Roof! Roof! Roof!)
Besides, even if everyone is still a little upset with me. We all need to get away from our surroundings at times. It’s important. It’s healthy. It’s good for you! Perhaps, that’s what Earl needs. A nice long vacation. (grrrr! grrrr!)
Well, I’m not going to let a little distraction
spoil sharing MY wonderful FIRST time trip to the East Coast!
Joe grew up in New Jersey, and has always wanted me to go.
So, I finally gave in to see what all the fuss was about.
Turns out there’s lots to fuss about, I was pretty amazed at the beauty of New England states. The charm of Cape Cod, Boston, and Nantucket. We also stopped in Rhode Island, Connecticut, NYC, oh, and of course New Jersey.
Indulged up a fabulous dinner at Sardi’s in Manhattan.
Followed by a Broadway play “An American in Paris”. This is where I wore that great go~to gray ruffled skirt. sweet couple don’t you think. ♡
We had an amazing time. Each place had it’s own vibe. I guess that’s true about everywhere.
I loved the quaint feeling of Nantucket. Isn’t this cottage heart~pounding adorable. I think I might need to copy it. I’m planning on doing a whole post just showing these wonderful BEYOND charming homes. (Can you tell I loved it there?)
And the urban feeling of downtown Boston is so fabulous. I discovered this very hip discount store located in the downtown area. It had just opened. One of the gals working there informed me that they would be opening in lots of states real soon. I confess it was difficult to resist purchasing a few items. I’ll make sure to share more about them in a “My Style” post too.
I realize I already shared the two photos above. But, I just couldn’t resist showing them again. us. I thought they were so cute. (grin)
The sophistication, and vibes of Manhattan are a.m.a.z.i.n.g Earl would fit right in with all the distracting noise love it there. (RooooRooooRooooRoooo *really high pitched*) So glad to have gone. ..and even happier to be safely back home back in our terribly noisy needs to improve sweet, peaceful, serene, cottage by the Sea. You get the picture. Because of course the best part of getting away from it all….
is the returning back home again. (wink)
Whimper. ..whimper. ..whimper. .♡
Sweet November Blessings. ..
Here’s a little getaway for you, if you read today’s post in ONE sitting. Xo
“My goal is to build a life I don’t need a vacation from!” ~Rob Hill Sr.
I loved your post and, at times, I could not hear the music because of the barking!!
Hi Joe!
Thank you. And, yes Earl would love NYC don’t ya think. ♡
