  • Outfit of the Day – Friday Edition Off to the a Outfit of the Day – Friday Edition

Off to the airport to scoop up a dear friend and then it’s lunch with my handsome husband — because Fridays are made for good company and better outfits.

I just wrapped up my very own Yvonne LaFleur perfume moment — have you seen her spritz magic? A little mist here, a gentle swish there, barely grazing the blouse and the hair like it’s a waltz — and voilà! A scent that follows you like a soft whisper. Today’s fragrance? Chanel No. 5 — a classic cloud of elegance in just the right light spray.

Now for the outfit:
Light khaki pants from Marshalls that feel like a Friday mood.
Top from Ann Taylor Loft — summery, breezy, and just structured enough to say “Yes, I have plans.”
Straw bag slung over my shoulder, ready to hold everything I need while still looking effortlessly chic.
And my sassy sandals — a Ross treasure from a couple summers ago that still bring the sparkle and the stride.

Feeling fresh, put together, and ready to roll into the weekend.❌⭕️❌💋
One week later—and what a difference a week make One week later—and what a difference a week makes!💕

Last week at this time, I had a rather funny experience trying to meet up with a new walking group (it didn’t quite go as planned). But today? Total success! I connected with the group, and we enjoyed a fabulous walk through a beautiful rose garden.

Even better—I felt like I made some new friends. We talked the whole way, and by the end, I had a list of ideas for getting involved: “Join the choir!” “Try ballroom dancing!” “Be a docent!” Oh my—I’m still catching my breath from the move! Ha! But I loved every minute.

To top it off, I treated myself to lunch afterward, and my fortune cookie said: “Be open to new experiences.” Well… how perfect is that?

(Sharing a few photos from the day—including that perfectly timed little fortune.)❌⭕️❌💋
June 2011😎 Throwback to one unforgettable day i June 2011😎
Throwback to one unforgettable day in my final week of teaching — and what a day it was!

Pic 1: Bright-eyed and ready (well, mostly) for the school day, savoring those last early morning moments before the classroom chaos kicked in.

Pic 2: Caught in the act — reading Miss Rumphius (a forever favorite by the wonderful Barbara Cooney) to my sweet students. That story always gave me goosebumps… and maybe a tear or two.

Pic 3: Fast forward — it’s giving Teacher gone glam! Quick outfit change, a dash of sparkle, and a Stuart Weitzman bag (early retirement treat!) as I headed out to a lovely dinner at the Mission Inn. Because after a lifetime of shaping young minds, a little shimmer is well deserved.

Retirement may be near, but this teacher still knows how to turn a page — and a look.❌⭕️❌💋

Just wrapped up a piano lesson (yes, I crushed it) Just wrapped up a piano lesson (yes, I crushed it) and now I’m off to an afternoon appointment, looking semi-professional and summer-ready. OOTD: classic black slacks, a black and white striped tee that’s shockingly flattering (go me), and my summer sandals—even though it’s not quite warm enough, I’m determined to show off this fresh pedicure. Priorities, right?

It’s a gorgeous 68 degrees here today—sunny, breezy, and begging for iced coffee. What’s the weather like where you are? Anyone got fun Wednesday plans, or are we all just coasting till Friday?

Let’s chat—what’s up in your world this afternoon?❌⭕️❌💋
