Life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.
– Leonard Nimoy
Hello, sweet friends…
This past weekend Joe and I shared our home in a local garden tour…
and six years ago (on the same weekend)
we had made the biggest move of my life…
moving from California to the Oregon Coast….
Reflecting on these past years…
I’ve learned that changing the direction of your life is a bit like growing things from seed…
Those early ideas dreams can be compared to early seedlings…
some just don’t develop at all…
others grow wild…
and a few seem to flourish and grow at their own pace…
I thought it was quite amazing that our garden tour coincided with the anniversary date of moving out of California…
Both dates will be forever embedded as precious memories.
Beginning something new requires a lot of patience…
and faith…
There’s been so many changes small and large since then…
some which have made a huge difference in our lives…
Similar to gardening the key to success is being patient with yourself and others…while continuing to nurture all those little seeds… flowers… and dreams… having faith and believing that something will grow and flourish in time.
Such a lovely post. You frequently have them!
Hi Marge,
Thank you so much!
Thank you for my own private ‘tour’ of your garden and being able to celebrate with you those ‘moments’ of the six year journey!
Congratulations!
Hi Jose,
Thank you!
Beautiful and stunning flowers. I was concerned with your safety when I heard about the extreme heat in the Northwest and the potential for forest fires. I’ve never been on the Oregon coast, so had no idea you seem to be in a perfect safety zone. I am amazed at the growth of your flower gardens and how beautiful your gardens have become. Congratulations on making such a productive move and following through with such beautiful results
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your caring concern…you are so kind. Our garden tour was fun and worth the extra effort involved in preparing for it. It was really nice to shared our garden with others in our community.
Fabulous! Wish I had been there to experience it in person. You two have done a beautiful creation for the Lord’s honor and glory and for the enjoyment of so many others. Keep up the good work good and faithful servant! Barbara
Hi Barbara!
Thank you for stopping by…I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the garden tour. Thank you for your sweet words.
