Tis The Season!

Do small things with great love” -Mother Teresa

Hello, sweet friend…

No doubt about it I’m a city girl… yet since moving from California into small town living…I’m discovering I am also… A country girl!

Heading out to an Open House & Christmas party…

The Holiday bazaar season is like a Norman Rockwell painting…come to life…

Their signs are everywhere…
I recently attended 3 Christmas bazaars…

We all know what to expect:

You walk into a church hall festooned with decorations…

I purchased all of these mini crochet wreath pins…
These tree ornaments have been sprinkled with handmade love…

that transform a humble space into a holiday theme park.

I wish I’d purchased those pretty flowered stockings…
An adorable handmade purse…

The tables are filled with homemade baked goods, and seasonal treats; the crafters have created one-of-a-kind gifts and ornaments; knitted, crocheted and hand-sewn scarves, mittens and pet toys are offered at hard-to-beat prices…

Quilting pieces…
Knitted hats…
Several of these came home with me…one was eaten before I arrived…

Holiday bazaars do more than just put shoppers in the spirit of the season…

If I were still teaching…I would have purchased this for my classroom in a heartbeat…

They bring people together. Visitors run into neighbors and out-of-towners they may not have seen since last year. It’s like the mythical village of Brigadoon, which comes to life annually for one day of the weekend and melts away again until the following year.

Handmade soaps…
Precious earrings…

I’m now hooked on visiting and patronizing holiday bazaars the money I leave behind…and the gifts I purchased are part and parcel of a small town holiday experience at its best.

Scarves that stretch into shawl…
Adorbs…
Cute display booth
Beautifully hand painted gift bags
Love all the colors

Ceramic jewelry
Miniature dishes for a doll house…
one quick stop to watch the tree lighting…
Arriving home just as the lights go on…
