Thought I’d pop in for a surprise visit. Lately, with everything going on with life transitions (aka California home on the market, and making plans for moving to our 1946 beach cottage on the Oregon Coast) I’ve only been posting on Fridays. However…..

in last Friday’s post I forgot to mention Marcia’s Cottage random winner for May…silly me. And, the official unofficial winner is Colleen Lund! Thank you for Colleen for liking, and sharing my Marcia’s Cottage Page. I’m enjoying meeting so many new friends.

And, of course I thought since you are here….I might as well make your visit here a little special and share a part of my weekend.

If your a regular reader of my blog your aware that I have a group of friends that meet for a Tea Party every few months. What!!! you didn’t know that? (grin) No worries here are a few links to catch you up.

So, anyway this month our little group was over the top lucky, when our friend Louise treated us to a charming afternoon tea…

and tour at The Heritage House in Riverside, Ca. where she is a volunteer. (thank you, thank you, thank you!) So, go and grab a cuppa and join me for a moment in time.

The Heritage House is a 19th-century structure built in 1892 by Mrs. Catharine Bettner, widow of James Bettner.

During its heyday, the Heritage House was considered to be one of the most elegant houses of the city. The mansion is currently maintained by the Riverside Municipal Museum.

The house was fashioned in the classic Queen Anne Victorian style.

It was built at Magnolia Avenue, which was then Riverside’s most scenic and affluent neighborhood. Currently, the Heritage House serves as an example of the wealthy homes of the 19th-century. The Riverside Municipal Museum has meticulously restored the house to its past grandeur.

The afternoon was delightful. Friendships, food, home, garden, tea… are often part of a tea party.

And, of course the true spirit of any tea party is, above all, it’s spirit of friendship.

Wishing you a wonderful month of May…..♡

                                                                   xoxo…
