“Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it…every, every minute?
-Thorton Wilder
Hello, sweet friends…
With January quickly coming to an end…
I’ve decided that this will be the year for me to try new things…saying yes more often…
opening myself up to life & it’s many experiences…
Whether it is a new style of sofa, haircut, food, hobby, or trying my hand at volunteering…
experimenting with simple tasks…
or perhaps even daring and challenging ones could be fun…pushing myself out of my comfort zone (just a little)
It’s exciting to imagine all the possibilities which no doubt will add a little pizazz to my life portfolio…
That being said a new friend recently asked if I’d like to join her for an evening of Bunco…
I thought about my decision to try new things this year say yes more often…
and even though I’ve played Bunco (years ago) more than requiring any skill… this dice game is really about enjoying oneself & having fun…
so naturally I said “yes I would love to join you”…
(big smile)
What’s Cooking…
There is nothing more satisfying than taking a simple cake mix and transforming it into an elegant multi layer cake… These past few weeks I have been experimenting with fruit filled cakes and cupcakes in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes… Below is a recipe for a very easy (delicious) buttercream frosting that I’ve been using.
EASY BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
Ingredients
1 cup salted butter softened
2-4 cups confectioners powdered sugar (depending on your preference)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract use clear vanilla if you want pure white icing
2 tablespoon milk
Instructions:
Add butter into a large bowl and cream with electric hand mixer for 1 minute. Add powdered sugar into the bowl, one cup at a time, and mix until fully combined. Add vanilla and milk and continue to mix until very fluffy, about 2-3 more minutes.
Spread (or pipe) on cupcakes…Enjoy!
I applaud you for adding some pizazz to your life by saying ‘yes’ to new things.
Hope you have fun at Bunco.
The cupcakes look absolutely mouthwatering!
Good to see you today Jose…wishing you an amazing day!
