Hi! How was your week? Any special plans for the weekend? This will mark my first Memorial Day celebration here on the coast.
I’m looking forward to sharing the afternoon with friends, and plan on doing some of the grilling myself on our new little barbeque. So that should be fun!
My father served in the United States Navy. He was a wonderful husband, father, friend, and proud of his country. One of the things he had wanted most after he finished serving his duty, was to get married, purchase a home and raise a family. I hold him, along with all our courageous military men, and women with deep admiration, love, and respect, and dedicate today’s post to them.
With that said, another thing my father loved was a good barbeque. His were much more fancier, so he probably wouldn’t be that impressed with mine. However, I’m pretty sure he’d be impressed with this little cottage Home.
The week has flown by.
I decided to work on this very small patio area right outside our bedroom, and laundry room.
I’ve known that it had great potential. However, I just wasn’t sure which direction I would take with creating it.
On a creative whim, I decided to paint the glass doors so they looked like lattice.
This will allow a little more privacy, and yet add an inviting outdoor space.
I’m visualizing a fresh air space that will be comfortable and easilly accessible from the kitchen, and bedroom…
Into a garden filled with fragrant and blooming plants. I’m rather pleased with how it’s turing out.
Just a few more touches and I’ll be ready to start that grilling.
Have a fabulous weekend.
See ya!
Here’s a tour of my new Garden Room. Of course I’m still working on it.
Memorial Day menu:
Grilled vegan burgers
Grilled burgers
Barbequed ribs
Potato Salad
Dessert…still thinking on this one.

HI,
That was a wonderful heart felt tribute to your mother and father. If I had a daughter, I would want her to have the same loving heart you have.
