As the garden shifts with the turning of seasons, so too does life…each change a gentle reminder of time’s passage, marked by the memories we nurture and the moments we cherish.
💗Marcia
After returning from California, I was met with a garden that had transformed in just a few short weeks. Before I left, the crocuses were making their final appearance, their delicate blooms a reminder of Summers height. Now, they’ve faded, and in their place, the dahlias have taken centerstage, with even more blossoms than before. Their vibrant colors seem to celebrate the early days of autumn, continuing to surprise me with each new bloom.
The hydrangeas, too are still as beautiful as ever, but they’re beginning to shift. Their colors are transitioning, softening into the muted tones that signal the change in season. The mums have started their quiet transformation as well, reminding me that while some things fade, others are just beginning to show their beauty.
Walking through my garden now, it feels symbolic of how I’ve been feeling since my return. I recently attended my high school reunion in California, and the experience brought with it a flood of memories, changes, and reflections. Just like the garden, life has its seasons…each one carrying its own beauty, even as things shift and evolve.
There’s something so reassuring in seeing the cycle of my garden, from the bright, full blooms of summer to the more subdued yet stunning colors of early autumn. It reminds me that change, though inevitable, brings its own form of grace.
The beauty of my garden is still very much a part of my life, just as the memories of my high school days are. Though the colors and shapes have shifted, both in my garden and in my life, there’s a richness to the passing of time that I’ve come to cherish.
As I continue to watch the dahlias bloom and the hydrangeas change, I’m reminded to embrace the transformations around me…and within me…with gratitude.
Thank you so much for that wonderful tour of your garden. The changing seasons brings it own special stamp of approval to the garden.
Looking forward to seeing more transformation in the future of your garden!
