Gather with grateful hearts and warm cups in hand, as we celebrate the harvest season’s abundance and the simple joys of sharing time together…
💗Marcia
At the beginning of this year, I set a goal for myself to host a fundraiser in my home, and I am beyond excited to share that next week, I’ll be hosting a harvest tea for my P.E.O. chapter right here where I live! It’s something I’ve been looking forward to, and it feels so rewarding to see it all coming together.
In this first post of a two-part series, I want to take you through my process of setting the scene for the tea using only the fall decor I already had on hand… without purchasing a single new item. It’s amazing how we can get creative with what we have! I’ve been focusing on transforming my small dining alcove into a cozy, warm space for my guest, and I think it’s going to be just perfect.
The inspiration for this space actually came from a little binge watching of the new autumn series on Hallmark a few days before I started decorating. I love the rich colors and cozy vibes they create, and I wanted to bring that same warmth into my own home. The autumn series gave me plenty of ideas for color schemes and cute decor that I could easily replicate with what I had.
One of my favorite pieces to work with has been a skinny tree that I just love to decorate each season. This year, I’ve added fall leaves with little blinking lights and a few twigs I had around the house to create a whimsical touch. It brings such a warm glow to the room, and I think it will really add to the ambience during the tea.
Since space is a little limited in the dining alcove, I brought down a small table from our upstairs hallway for some extra seating. Right now, I think I have just enough spots for all my guests, and I’m excited to see how it all comes together on the day of the event!
As it turns out, this harvest tea has serendipitously kicked off my fall decorating a little earlier than expected, which makes me so happy! There’s something about decorating for autumn that always lifts my spirits… the colors, the textures, the cozy feel of it all.
Next week, in part two, I’ll be sharing the final touches, including the China and place settings I’ll be using. I’ll also give you a peek at the food I’ll be serving, which I’m so excited about! I’m really looking forward to showing you how everything comes together for the special occasion!
Stay tuned for more, and I hope this post inspires you to create your own cozy, autumn vibes, no matter what season of life you’re in.
Thank you so much for sharing your enthusiasm and creativity for your Autumn tea.
Great ideas for decorating !
Really looking forward to experiencing next week’s post to see what you served and how you prepared it!!
Dear Marcia…..everything looks LOVELY! Its so exciting to bring things out a year later and forget what you already have! I really luck out with a birthday so late in August , the kids usually buy me Fall candles and decor as well!
