“Mardi Gras is the love of life. It is the harmonic convergence of our food, our music, our creativity, our eccentricity, our neighborhoods, and our joy of living. All at once.”
– Chris Rose
Hello, sweet friend…
I hope you are well…
Joe & I recently returned from New Orleans where we attended Mardi Gras. The excitement of parties and all the spectacular parades with crowds of people prancing down the streets…cheering at full throttle, grabbing for colorful beads… and other trinkets that filled the air…was a sight to see…
It’s hard to imagine unless you’re actually there…
Growing out of the Roman Catholic tradition, the roots of Mardi Gras are religious…
And in many ways have become secular…
appearing silly & over the top…
however this first time experience left me with a deep impression that Mardi Gras is still spiritual at heart, particularly after a 2 year pandemic…
celebrating the love of life in all its many glorious manifestations.
Thank you so much for sharing your Mardi Gras experience with us!
It seems like so much fun and excitement, especially after the pandemic.
The colors, the food, the parades, the ‘throw’ and just the atmosphere seemed like a once in a lifetime experience.
Your hallway and basement are a creative workshop that is inspiring.
laissez le bon temps rouler!!!!
Marcia…how exciting….so much going on …I have not been keeping up..we do not do Mardi Gras anymore…but excited to hear that you were here
Hi Carol! It’s so nice to see you here. Mardi Gras was lots of fun…once is enough though…it was exciting & exhausting. I hope everything is well with you and wish you a happy Spring. Blessings my friend.
