A fresh start begins with clearing the old to make space for the new…both in our homes and in our hearts…
The living room is the heart of our home… a place where we gather, relax, and make memories. After the holiday season, it often feels like the space is begging for a refresh. This year, I embraced the process of decluttering and resetting my living room as a way to welcome the new year with a sense of calm and clarity.
I started by clearing away the remnants of the holidays: the garland, throw pillows, and decorative accents that brought so much joy during the festive season. While, I loved how cozy the space felt in December, by January, I was ready for something lighter and less cluttered.
I focused on creating clean surfaces, rearranging furniture for a fresh perspective, and adding a few simple touches, like a vase of fresh flowers on the coffee table. The now cluttered shelves and corners, bring a sense of peace that feels invigorating.
One thing I’ve learned through this process is that even small changes can have a big impact. Whether it’s removing an extra stack of magazines, simplifying a book shelf, or letting more natural light in by rearranging the curtains, the key is to make the space work for how you live now.
How do you like to refresh your living room after the holidays? Do you focus on clearing out holiday decor, rearranging furniture, or adding something new to the space? I’d love to hear your tips and ideas… Let’s inspire each other to create spaces we love.
I love the idea of decluttering!
I believe for me it also means my life; making it more simple.
Looking forward to more of your series.
Happy New Year
