This simple evening…filled with music, wandering, and sweetness..quietly marked the beginning of the season and reminded me how good it feels to say yes to the little moments.

There are some evenings that stay with you… not because they’re grand or planned down to the minute, but because they unfold so gently and beautifully. This week, we had one of those.
I had circled a date on my calendar… a quiet little hope for a soft summer evening to mark the seasons arrival. And it didn’t disappoint.
The town courtyard was alive with the sound of jazz… people gathered under the open sky, picking up food from nearby spots, lingering in the warmth of the evening. We joined in, enjoying tacos, live music, and that feeling of being part of something simple and shared.
After dinner, we wandered downtown without any real agenda… and that’s when we found it. A brand new ice cream shop tucked along the sidewalk, cheerful and inviting. We stepped inside and each picked a flavor that felt just right for summer. There’s something about discovering a place like that on an evening stroll… it stays with you. We’ll definitely be going back.

We also stopped into a cozy little pastry shop that caught our eye earlier… warm light glowing from inside, tempting treats in the window. Just stepping in, felt like a sweet indulgence.
What started as a plan to enjoy a little music, turned into a golden kind of evening. Spontaneous, relaxed, and full of small delights.
More than anything, it felt like a quiet celebration of a new season and a new rhythm of life. This place is home now, and I’m thankful for the moments that remind me why.
Summer is here. And I am so happy to be right where I am.
From this little corner, I call home… wishing you a season of music, meandering, and just enough magic

I so appreciate your gently entering the new season, Summer and letting it unfold as you shared. Must have taken real willpower not to also enjoy a pastry
Wishing you continued joy this Summer.
Jose, I smiled at your kind words about summer’s gently unfolding. I must admit, that pastry was tempting! But I was so full of the simple joy of the day that I let it pass me by. Thank you for reminding me how these little choices shape, our rhythm of living. Wishing you a joyful and light filled summer as well.
Lovely memories. Thank you for sharing and reminding us there is so much joy to be found in the simple things.
Having a recent scare of not being able to breathe, the little things are so important. Did not even consider what congestive heart failure could mean in my life. Fortunately, a fantastic medical team was able to make a quick diagnosis and now a wonderful ‘at home
team’ is helping me adjust to a new way of life! And indeed, there are so many “little” things to bring joy and pleasure to one’s life. Onward with a new appreciation for life.
Nancy, thank you for sharing something so personal and vulnerable. I’m truly relieved to hear that you had a strong medical team by your side. What a powerful reminder that even life’s most difficult turns can open our eyes to beauty we once overlooked. May this new chapter be one of healing, grace, and yes… so much joy and the little things. Sending love and strength your way.
I am SO HAPPY you have settled into your new home!!!!! Enjoy my FAV season of Summer Sweet SUMMER xoxo
Donna, thank you, dear friend. Your words made so much. I do feel more settled with each passing week, and this summer is already weaving itself into memory and such tender ways. I’m soaking it in… and thinking of you as I do!
With love and gratitude,
Marcia
