There’s something truly special about being invited into a circle of women you’ve never met…especially when the setting includes teacups, heirloom quilts, and generous hospitality.
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a tea luncheon hosted by a lovely group of ladies in my new community. Though I didn’t know any of them very well (yet!). I was welcomed with open arms, warm smiles, and endless cups of tea.

Each table was a little world of its own, thoughtfully styled and curated by the women sitting at it. From vintage teapots and floral china to soft linen napkins and personal touches, every place setting told a quiet story. Some tables were whimsical, others elegant, and all were beautiful. I especially loved hearing how each woman contributed something to her table…whether it was a special family jam recipe, a delicate tiered stand, or a lacy table runner that once belonged to a grandmother.

It was also a quilt show, which added such a sweet, tactile layer to the day. The vibrant colors and textures of the quilts… draped over chairs and displayed with care… felt like a celebration of creativity and comfort.

I kept my outfit simple for the warm summer day: a long Boho- inspired top with embroidered flowers, paired with capri jeans, comfy sandals, and a little straw bag. It felt perfectly at home among the patchwork antique cups.

We nibbled on dainty egg sandwiches, cloud-like scones with clotted cream and jam, and passed around pots of steaming tea as we shared stories. And though the ladies didn’t know yet that I have a deep affection for all things, tea and teatime, I think they soon figured it out!
There’s something lovely about pausing for a slow afternoon… lingering over sips and stories with new friends. This tea luncheon reminded me of so many past memories: long tables under dappled light, laughter over shared cups, and that sense of belonging that can bring up in the most unexpected places.
I’m already looking forward to the next gathering.
With a grateful heart and a full teacup.

Oh, my! What a truly wonderful occasion to be apart of. The ladies open heartedness and hospitality are truly a blessing and gift.
Looking forward to hearing more from your new friends!
