There’s something about these in-between days that always feels especially tender to me.
The last day of summer arrived with its own quiet kind of beauty — soft light through the windows, a sense of calm in the air, and the feeling that the season was gently beginning to turn. I always love this moment. Not quite summer, not quite fully autumn… just that lovely little pause in between.
Welcoming autumn at home can be as simple as a few cozy touches, a favorite meal, and letting the season arrive slowly.

I’ve been easing into the new season at home in simple ways. A few warmer touches indoors, a cozy pillow here and there, a hint of autumn color, and just a little more softness all around. Nothing dramatic — just those small changes that make home feel cared for and welcoming.

And in the kitchen, I found myself making a meal that felt a little like both seasons at once: light and fresh, but still comforting. This easy bow tie pasta bowl was one of those simple dishes that felt just right for the occasion — bright cherry tomatoes, olives, mozzarella, herbs, and a drizzle of olive oil, all served up with a slice of toasted bread on the side.

It felt like a fitting little meal for saying goodbye to summer and opening the door to autumn.
Easy Bow Tie Pasta Bowl
Ingredients
- 8 ounces bow tie pasta
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup mozzarella pearls
- 2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon pine nuts
- 1 to 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- A pinch of Italian seasoning or dried basil, if desired
- Toasted bread, for serving
Directions
- Cook the bow tie pasta according to package directions. Drain and let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the pasta, cherry tomatoes, olives, mozzarella pearls, and parsley.
- Drizzle with olive oil and toss gently.
- Add the pine nuts, minced garlic if using, and season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of Italian seasoning.
- Taste and adjust as needed.
- Spoon into a bowl and serve with a slice of toasted bread.
This is the kind of meal that doesn’t ask for much, but somehow still feels a little special.
I think that’s what I’m craving most as autumn begins — not grand changes, just small comforts. A home that feels cozy. A meal that feels nourishing. A softer rhythm. A new season arriving one gentle moment at a time.
Happy first days of autumn, sweet friends.
