There are moments in life when something invisible becomes visible.
When something that once lived quietly inside you… takes form in your hands.
Today is one of those moments for me.
I am holding my new novella, Spring: The Trail of Arden, for the very first time. What began as scattered thoughts, quiet reflections, and emotional undercurrents has turned into a story with a cover, pages, and a spine — something real, something I can hold.
And yet, this isn’t just about a book.
It’s about a season of life.
This story was written during a time of transition — of settling into a new home, a new rhythm, and a new understanding of who I am in this chapter of life. As I wrote, I didn’t always realize how much of my own journey was gently weaving itself into the pages. The emotions, the memories, the quiet questions about identity, belonging, and moving forward… they found their way into the story before I even named them.
That’s the mysterious thing about writing.
Sometimes the story knows before we do.
There were days of ease and flow… and days of doubt. Moments when I wondered if I should wait, revise again, or tuck it away for “someday.” But I’ve come to recognize something important:
A story tells you when it’s ready.
And this one was ready.
Publishing it now feels like more than a creative milestone. It feels like a personal marker — a gentle line in the sand between who I was and who I am becoming. One year ago, life was shifting in big ways. Today, I’m holding proof that beauty can grow in the middle of change.
This novella carries pieces of tenderness, resilience, memory, and hope. It reflects the quiet strength that comes from continuing forward, even when the path feels unfamiliar. It honors the past while making space for what’s new.
And maybe that’s why this moment feels emotional.
Because letting a story go is also an act of trust.
Trust that it will find the readers who need it.
Trust that what was written in honesty will land in the right hearts.
Trust that creating is always worth the vulnerability it requires.
As I turn it over in my hands and see my name on the cover, I remember the early morning writing sessions, the edits, the prayers, the quiet persistence.
A story, once just a whisper…
now something I can hold.
And for that, I am deeply grateful.
Gratitude: For the courage to begin, the strength to continue, and the grace to release.
