Today I’m hosting a small little EaStEr TeA for a group of ladies that I recently meant. You could say they are a new friends. And, I might say. .. I am a little excited too!♡
These last few weeks I’ve been going through photos of Tea Parties that I’ve hosted. Trying to figure out, what sort of tablescape theme I wanted.♡ Coincidently, a women’s Bible study I’m involved in has been studying Martha, and Mary of Bethany.
Now, I promise not to make this post all about my little old bible study. However, (grin) As I “prepared” for this Tea. I couldn’t help but think, about the “doer” part of Me., and the “being” part of Me.. And, apologies to any men out there who are reading this post today.♡(BTW ARE there any men out there reading this post today?) (smile)
Well, anyway. .. It seemed to me, that as I prepared for this event…♡
It was”ALL” about doing, doing, and doing. (That’s Martha) and very little time for being. Yep… You guessed it, that’s Mary.
Whenever I host a Tea Party, there are SO many details. . to take care of (Martha)
So many Details flitting all around, that it could make your head spin.♡ Lots of organizing.
There’s the menu….
Now. .. is this a Mary moment, or a Martha moment?
Because even though I was “planning” and
Trying to decide what I was going to serve. ..
Oh my gosh, I’m getting hungry. …♡
I was totally relaxed. … While I was planning. ..♡do you see my toes wiggling?
So I guess I was having a Mary moment.
And, yet it truly is alot of “WORK” to share your HoSpItAlIty. … We’re talking Martha again. ♡
This morning I finally think I got the whole Mary, and Martha thing. It takes BOTH! We work hard, and of course do our best. .. and then we just we pray for the HuMiLiTy and GrAcE to enJoY the results. AMEN. Oops….. guess that was a carry over from yesterday’s Bible study. (smile)
