Welcome to Downton Abbey….♡

Hi! I just returned from a super fun evening. I attended my first Downton Abbey bookclub. Well….it’s not really a bookclub,  more like a gathering of super nice ladies here on my beautiful coast. Ladies who of course love watching Downton. And, because it was my first meeting I behaved and kept my camera out of sight. (pout) However, now I’m wishing that I took some photos. The hostess lives in a beautiful cottage home that sits on the Coquille river.  The table was filled with a variety of food,  and treats to share while watching Downton. I can’t think of a better way to end the season. If I have to say goodbye to the Crawley family and their servants. ..thank goodness I can share it with new friends, and yummy food.

Here’s a re-post of an earlier post from 2014. I believe it’s from Season 4. I still was living in California at the time. Proof, that time does not stand still.  Enjoy!

Hello,  Welcome to Downton Abbey. Oops…I meant to say Marcia’s Cottage. I’m so happy to see you. Dear friend what IS it about this series that is SO captivating?♡

I’m sort of wondering if perhaps it is because we have SO much in common…(Giggle, giggle) ok… well first of all I do have an affinity for ALL things English…. As in Tea parties. .♡(big grin)

Ummm…this is sort of Downton Abbeyish… Don’t you think. ..♡

Fine china….

Lots of pretty lace.

This “COTTAGE” sign could read “ABBEY”…I rather fancy the pink with white polka dot darling bolero… We could party like its 1929….♡

Or this sweet little summer hat…

I know Darjeeling would NEVER be allowed this privilege…♡Mr.Carson would be quite annoyed.

And of course I adore beautiful magical weddings..♡

It delights me to receive pretty invitations in the mail for fancy afternoon teas. This is most civilized don’t you think my friend. ♡

An afternoon to relax and chat about anything, and everything.

I must find those gloves. …

I’m all for mini Victorian tea cakes too..♡

I wonder where I can find these napkins. .♡

And any opportunity where I can accessorize with my vintage pearl necklace, count me in!

Hey what about my fancy Chandliers. .. Don’t they count?   (Even if I did make them myself)

Now let me see what else. ……

Oh dear I almost forgot about the Royalty! The two on the right are 100% purebred. … yep. .. Lord Earl Grey, and Lady Teah. Oddly the one on the far left is a rescue. … and smartest of them all. (Smile)

Now I’m starting to impress myself with all this royal chic-ness.♡
Yes. . They do have servants with problems. . And I don’t have servants♡ which can sometimes be a problem. ..♡

Wait a second. … Where did that chicken come from..♡

Now seriously. … I’m re-thinking this whole captivation thing with the Downton.  I’m really so pleasantly blessed and content with my little cottage life. ♡

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have a lovely blessed day my friend. ♡

XOXO. ..
Marcia

Hello, I just stumbled upon your beautiful site! I LOVE downtown Abby. I wish I could have known about your site when I was still on TV. I used to cater Tea parties too. It was called, Plan An elegant Tea Party Catering Service. I also had a tea party website to go with it. It had many tea recipes and a Victorian theme. But alas, I had to give them all up due to a back problem. Your site made me smile. thank you for sharing. I live in West Virginia in the US with my husband, son, daughter and granddaughter. Hope this message finds you and yours well. God bless. Sincerely, JoAnn
