The Holiday Season is Upon Us🎄

“Christmas won’t be Christmas without my presents”

-Jo March (Louisa May Alcott)

Hello!

I thought I’d drop in…

today🎄

My inner voice is speaking loudly.

I’m actually on my way to church to practice the piano for Sunday’s service.

However…I spent a good part of the day perusing one of my favorite shops…Katrina Katheen’s

I think this is becoming a tradition of mine… the day after Thanksgiving I drive 20+ miles to enjoy beginning of the holiday season.

I had memories of  California and all the familiar sites and sounds I used to frequent during this time of year.  If you ever read any of my very early blogs you might remember that in my California home I had a whole closet filled with Christmas and decorating items… Back in those days it was about lots of stuff and lots of decorating. 🙀

Today as I was perusing this wonderful shop and feeling the excitement of the season a thought came over me…

listening to Christmas music…snacking on a cupcake (or two)…and smelling the sweet aroma of the apple cider… just experiencing all the decorating and beauty is enough. This year I’m using mini lights on my tree (s) and keeping things rather simple…filling my cottage with those things that bring beauty and light.

As the holiday season begins….I’m planning on experiencing the beauty of the season… without getting all stressed and wrapped up into divine stress and frenzy.

I suppose this is the voice that is speaking to me today…reminding me reasons to slow down a bit to enjoy all the beauty…and yes even the excitement.

Enjoy the season!💋

I really appreciate your reflections on this usually busy season and reminding me to stop and take in the deeper meaning of the Season!
    Thank you!

I plan to have more experiences with my family this year and less emphasis on gift giving. I love to see all the decorations and hear holiday music but I’d love to see us all concentrate on “ sharing the love”. Love your postings Marcia… ;0)

  3. Donna Kelly says:

I would LOVE to adopt this policy that you have….maybe another year…LOL
