I have a friend who I taught with years ago. She now lives in Orange County.
She and her husband host these over the top Karaoke parties once a year.
They invite a group of friends, and have the food catered.
They also rent a professional Karaoke system. Very high tech. She always invites Joe and I. Believe it or not the first time we went, we hadn’t even done karaoke before, and we were really impressed with all the talent. Many of the guests are professional singers, or in a band. Anyway, I had been chatting with my friend, and getting caught up with what was going on in her life.
People were eating, and just having a marvelous time. All of a sudden my friend stopped talking, looked at the singer performing Karaoke, then looked back at me. Naturally, I was just waiting for her to continue chatting away. She looked at the singer again, and then back at me and said, “Is that Joe singing?” I looked through the crowd of people, to the stage area. … and there was my husband standing in front of this group of strangers singing a song, doing karaoke for the very first time in his life! He had requested this really sweet song. … and dedicated it to me. Just between you and I….. It was one of life’s most simplest joyous moments. Yes, it was my husband! Have you ever had a sweet out of the ordinary surprise happen to you? I hope so. … It will warm your heart forever. …♡
