Summer and Mid Year Dreams

“For every minute you are angry you lose 60 seconds of happiness.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi!, how are you?

Somewhere in-between now and our last chat…

we have traveled into the halfway mark of 2018.

Another celebration of July 4th has come and gone.

A wonderful evening celebrating with neighbors and friends.

I’m so lucky!

Being aware of how quickly the year is passing…

I’ve been taking everything in…

precious moments of the months that have past…

Somehow I decided it was time for editing my closets.

(organize, clean things out)…like an inner time clock

a desire to change things around a bit.

Change helps me refocus…live more intentionally.

Maybe halfway through the year is the right time for a change. Maybe it isn’t. I’ll just keep checking in…editing closets…staying in tune with how I want to live and making adjustments along the way. It’s an exciting journey.

Although this will be our third summer living on the Oregon coast…I’ve actually celebrated four July 4th’s here!

This year Joe and I barbecued and prepared baked beans, corn, and potato salad for side dishes.

Our friends brought the salad, watermelon and dessert.

After dinner we house hopped over to another friend’s home to watch the fireworks. (and dessert)

    Hello sweet friend Marcia,
I have been away for a bit catching up with all that was needed after our trip….
I enjoyed this blog very much. It is so true the time is passing so quickly. We are in July and it seems that we were just celebrating New Year’s Eve with friends…. Everyday is a blessing and we must just give thanks for our health, family, and blessings we have been given….. Everyday, is a new page in our life book… some pages are the ones we want to keep without any erasing and others we hope not to… Summer has hit Laguna and the tourists are in the town in droves….thank God for our beach here in Emerald Bay… Your cottage continues to evolve… and it is just darling…. love seeing all the darling touches that you add in your home and in your garden… A feast for the eyes and the colors of kindred spirits….
The 4th of July at the darling pink cottage by the sea looked like fun and the barbecue delicious… We have a very similar potato salad recipe which was my moms… The only thing different is a bit of green onion and olives…. mouth watering deliciousness!!
Well, sweet friend I just wanted to stop by and say hello…… I have missed writing on your blogs….
    XOXO Jane

    Hi Jane!
I’m so happy to hear that you are getting caught up with everything since your trip. Time is a funny strange thing…moment to moment doesn’t seem like much however after a week…month…much less half a year the time has flown. Everyday is a new page and I too try to remember it as the blessing it is. Your Laguna seems years away from my summer memories now that I live on the Oregon coast. I remember many a days strolling around Balboa and the fun shops & restaurants. (I’m convinced if we had met…we would have been hanging out there right this moment) I actually beached at Corona Del Mar where there seemed to be less people. I’m glad you enjoy seeing the evolvement of my little pink cottage…which is also quite different than your nest. Yes the potato salad is the same without the onions…my guy Joe isn’t crazy about them. Speaking of which I best hop to it as I have a date day with my guy today. Thank you for stopping by to visit and chat. Lots of hugs.XO

      Hi Cindy!
So happy to see you here today. It’s a sorry basic recipe… nothing fancy and so good! I hope you are staying cool in California during the summer months. Have a great weekend! XOXO
