“I like joy; I want to be joyous; I want to have fun on the set; I want to wear beautiful clothes and look pretty. I want to smile, and I want to make people laugh. And that’s all I want. I like being happy. I want to make others happy”

Hello, sweet friend…

Cami & Darjeeling walking back to the cottage🌸

Thought I would share a post I wrote when I first moved to the Oregon coast in 2015. It was called The Photo Shoot.

I’ve re-edited this post in loving memory of Doris Day…a most loved…honored woman and the champion for animal welfare.

Cami & me

No doubt Ms. Day and I have lots in common. Did you know that she never tells her real age. She said she forgets if she’s 92, or 93. That is so amazing because I too forget how old I am. I agree with her age is only a number. Que Sera Sera!

We both live in beautiful cottages by the sea.

🌸

However the best thing we share in common is our love and adoration for our pets.

I LOVE EvErYtHiNg about Doris. (We are on a first name basis…ever since my early days in Carmel.

Anyway today I thought would be the perfect day for a photo shoot. Sooooo….I grabbed asked my sweet…loving…kind…forever patient husband if he could take a few photos of our little furry kids.

After all…how difficult could it be…

It was a beautiful sunny day in California. I found a great spot in our garden to sit with the furry kids.  My sweet… kind… loving…forever patient husband lodged himself carefully between the shrubs on a holy area….I mean holey…oops again silly me…I meant hilly area. (grin) patient Joe said  “okay everyone look at the camera”….”smile!”…..At that very moment our cat jumped off my lap and the other three lost their focus. I’m pointing where I think Darjeeling ran off to. Teah, and Cami looked somewhat concerned. Earl’s trying to figure out how to hightail it out of there. Joe said “no problem just a little bump in the road…let’s try it again.”

Me: “sure!”💋💋💋

Cami is ready.

Now we’re getting the hang of this. …

Me: “Joe…wait a second…what is this…I think it’s a…”

“Is it a bee?”

“Oh no worries it’s just a cute little bug.”

Teah is ready.

Oh darn... this happy photo shoot is much more difficult than I thought. Doris always makes it look so very easy…perhaps I should give her a call and inquire how she does this happy photo thing.

Why am I the only one looking at the camera? Joe says it’s because I’m a natural poser. Hmm…I wonder what he meant by that comment.  Oh well… I’m NOT giving up. Doris wouldn’t

Perhaps, if we try a different angle… Then Joe says “Bird I’m getting hungry” (Bird is my nickname) I say “can we take just a few more photos?”

cute emoji of me begging🥰

Joe…”okay”

Well… Teah, Cami, and I are ready. (what’s Earl doing? and where did Darjeeling go?)where did I put Doris’s phone number…

oh, oh, I think I just heard Joe’s stomach growling…or…was that my sweet… loving…kind… forever patient Joe growling…

Just one more try…

really just one…

for Doris….
