Bunnies everywhere!

It’s Bunny week! Here’s my two coastal bunnies. The one on the left traveled with me when I moved from California. The botanical bunny on the right is new. They have become good friends.  I Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I’ve actually been quite busy. Lots of Spring cleaning, gardening, a little painting. Hunting for garden art. Actually, I think I just might have found the perfect bike for my garden! I bequeathed my former bunnies to friends in California. What do say we hop back in time for a peek. I’m ready for some fun! Before moving to the coast this time of year, at Marcia’s Cottage there were lots of bunnies. They were everywhere! A perfect bunny teapot.. HoP…HoP…HoP.. Lots of chocolate eggs.  she was always a little camera shy… However, he was not… Awww…that’s much better!  Everyone always wanted to join in the fun. Hey, where did this one come … Continue reading

A Mad~Hatter Tea Party

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s CottageCottage by the Sea I’m so happy to see you today my friend. ♡ Shall we have a little tea. ♡ Today I would like to share with you one of my passions. Which of course is having fun, and enjoying the satisfaction that comes from creating a beautiful setting just for friends of my heart. A Mad Hatter’s Tea was the perfect opportunity to celebrate special friendships…   and the beginning of Spring.   Let me briefly explain how to host one yourself. (just in case your interested)     First decide date, time, food, and who will be your lucky guests.   Then hop into all the preparations. Thest photos are from when I still lived in California. The weather was perfect to seat everyone outside in our garden. I created a canopy for the deck, since I was actually a little concerned that … Continue reading

A Kettle of Hope

There comes a time when everything comes together. Well, let me re~phrase  that a little. There comes a time when most things come together. Okay…one last try. There comes a time, when things seem to be going pretty well, and your feeling pretty hopeful. There that’s much better!   Perhaps it started with a little class I recently took which instructed me how to grow vegetables on the Oregon coast. Yes, everything grows differently on the coast.   Not only vegetables. Everything. Or, perhaps it was later in the week when the sun decided to tease me with it’s glorious light. Of course deep down inside I knew the truth. A good reminder that we always know the truth. It had actually begun a few weeks before when a large box unexpectedly arrived at our cottage. And when I opened up the box there was a wonderful MacKenzie-Childs teapot inside. I … Continue reading

Hello, Welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea. Tis lovely to see you on this fine Mornin’. And a Happy St. Pat’s Day to you indeed! The tea is on, & soda bread is baking in the oven. Come, let’s sit and chat for a wee while. ♧  Isn’t that hat cute. ..I got it for my husband to wear today. Sometimes he puts on a green mustache. Everything came from the 99 cent store, where every day is a lucky day. Later there are plans to attend a St. Patricks dinner. I’m looking forward to that! Do you have any fun plans for today? Any chance your visiting friends in Ireland? Watching the St.Patrick’s Day parade in NY might be fun. I thought it would be nice to share a recipe with you. Since everyone is a little Irish today. I found the recipe on Pinterest, which is my home … Continue reading

A California Cottage Tour…♡

Hello, and welcome to Marcia’s Cottage by the Sea  I’m so happy to see you today my friend. I’ve been out getting estimates for flooring. ( I’ve really been trying on Spring dresses.) and just thought I’d drop in to say Happy March! Happy rain! Happy, Happy dance! Shall we have a little GrEeN tea. .♡  I have had this little vintage teacup for years. I love the sweet delicate daffodil. It’s so sweet and simple. Since it’s middle of March, I thought it would be fun to go on an early Spring Home Tour in California where I lived before moving to the Oregon Coast. Oh look what I found while I was “editing” one of my closets. (That’s my new term for getting rid of stuff) Hmmm. .. I’m wondering if I should try wearing some of that…it is sort of cute. Okey dokey.. our tour guide is all ready! … Continue reading
